Pas na de presentatie en beoordeling van de "detailed business case" (publicatie najaar 2010), en de beslissing aan welk land/welke landen de WK's 2018 en 2022 worden vergeven (december 2010), wordt de definitieve business case opgesteld. Dat gebeurt dus voorjaar 2011. Als de gemeente met de business case akkoord gaat, en Feyenoord en de private partijen mede de financiering rondkrijgen, wordt er een architectenwedstrijd uitgeschreven. Over tenminste 2 ronden wordt dan uiteindelijk de winnaar bekend gemaakt. Reken hier op zomer-najaar 2011 op zijn vroegst.
Vergunningen op basis van het definitieve ontwerp zal in 2013 dan rond kunnen zijn. Vervolgens is het ruim 3 jaar bouwen. 2017 is een realistisch jaartal waarin het stadion gereed zou kunnen zijn.

Het plan is echt top, maar ik wacht nog even met het geven van een cijfer totdat de officiële impressies er zijn.

By 2018, a New Kuip will have arisen – only a stone’s throw away from the Old Kuip – with a seating capacity of 85,000. The stadium will be located on the banks of the New Meuse river and will be a real eye-catcher for anyone entering the city by motorway or along the river. Spectators will be able to sit close to the pitch and in bad weather under a closed roof. Upon completion of the new stadium, the old and new stadiums will continue to function as football venues alongside one another for a certain period of time.
