Europe’s latest in state-of-the-art multifunctional halls will be constructed in
the heart of a new city quarter located on the former eastern railway goods
terminal in a joint project with HOK Architects – this is the Ostbahnhof
Arena. Seating around 16,500 visitors and equipped with 89 exclusive business
suites, the hall will form an ideal venue for major prestigious events,
whether sports, cultural or entertainment. Despite the dimensions - 160 m
in length, 130 m in width and 38 m high, a few hours are all it will take to
convert this highly compact arena from an ice-hockey stadium into a festive
concert hall. The actual hall building and surrounding walkways are clearly
distinguishable in their front design. The invitingly curved central projecting
entrance front follows the tradition of those great dance halls and festival
venues around the turn of the twentieth century, while the interior is fully
equipped with the latest in state-of-the-art communications and live broadcasting
technology.
