Koszalin’s history goes back to the 12th century. It is a perfectly located city in the north of Poland, near the Baltic Sea, with a varied economy, based on tourism, industries, services and agriculture and offers good opportunities for development. It is also an important university city. There are cultural facilities like a concert hall, museum and galleries. The direct catchment area is around 450,000 people, and over a million tourists visit the Baltic Sea region during the summer.
Forum Koszalin is located on the southern edge of Koszalin, on the main road, No.11, that connects Koszalin to Poznań. Access to the local motorway and public transport network is excellent.
Forum Koszalin comprises of 55,000 m² of commercial area across 12 hectares in Koszalin city. It is the biggest retail and leisure centre in the whole region, focusing on Koszalin and its wide region as well as the coast. This new shopping destination is very welcoming with light filled spaces and a highly distinctive and iconic illuminated tower. Forum Koszalin fits perfectly into its surrounding area.
Forum Koszalin has attracted well-known Polish and European brands to Koszalin, many for the first time in Koszalin or the region. It hosts more than 120 shops, restaurants, a multiplex cinema, hypermarket and consumer electronics over 2 floors. Forum Koszalin offers a Tesco, Media Markt, H&M, C&A, New Yorker, Douglas, Marks & Spencer, Bershka, Pull and Bear, Empik, Smyk, Reserved and Home & You, forming an ideal combination of the best and strongest national and international retailers. There is a DIY store next to the gallery, 1,600 parking spaces and a petrol station.
The goal of the investment was to strengthen the development of Koszalin’s commercial activities and to further support this part of the city which had previously been commercially underdeveloped. The President of the City of Koszalin, Mr Mirosław Mikietyński summarized during the opening: “Thanks to the magic of the place, the idea and the people flowing into Forum Koszalin a new style of urban life is born.”
Forum Koszalin was opened on 27 November 2008.
