Bakelitten in Oslo

Bakelitten is a 30 000 sq m2 building planned for construction in Sandvika, a sattelite town to Oslo. The building, designed by HRTB architects, was chosen after a closed architectural competition with 3 entries, and will be a mixed use project with shops and cafes in the first floor, and office space in the towers. The building is laid out with a continuous ground floor with 6 office blocks going up, varying between 6, 8, 10 and 12 stories.

The project is an important piece in the expansion of Sandvika's "downtown", to create a continuous urban structure going north of the current centre.

The project recieved critique after it was launched, since the shadows in the render go north to south. In reality, the public space depicted in the render would get no sun for most of the day.
