In a city so rich with historic buildings, it's rare to see such a progressive piece of architecture as this. Architects are often reticent to use bright colours, but when it's done as confidently as this, it works superbly. 44-46 Call Lane is a striking block, with its multi-coloured facade and glass-fronted balconies it resembles a giant Rubik's Cube sandwiched between some of the city's finest historical buildings.
