Vancouver in Rotterdam

The name Vancouver Building was chosen due to the geographical position along the waterside (the Maas) and the physical appearance of the city. The decision to name the building after a city follows a long tradition on the Kop van Zuid in Rotterdam which also includes Hotel New York, Montevideo and Las Palmas. The building was designed by Claus en Kaan Architects and consists of a two-layered underground car park, and ten further storeys. The impressive glass outer wall of the 7,5 meter high gallery is a signature characteristic of this building. The ground floor up to the fourth floor is situated around a patio.
