Hoge Maas in Rotterdam

This tower with its pair of masts is situated right on the river near the southern entrance to the Maas Tunnel. Its cruciform plan draws the surroundings into the building, so that all five flats on the standard upper floors look out across the Maas River. The tower tapers at the top to receive two large apartments with a roof garden on each floor. All facades are predominantly black with untreated aluminium frames plus balustrades at the corner balconies. Beneath the building is an oval parking structure that doubles as the plinth for the tower and reaches out to the park beyond.
