Northgate Tower (Bishops Place) in London

This is a major mixed-use scheme on the City/Hackney border, immediately adjacent to the Broadgate Tower. Originally, it was intended that a historic pub, the Light Bar, would be demolished. However, following a campaign by local residents, along with objections from CABE, this was saved and incorporated into the plans. The developers hope to receive planning permission by next March. After substantial enabling works (due to nearby rail lines), the residential tower should be U/C by mid-2012.
