Cruise Center and Hotel in Hamburg

The HafenCity Terminal will combine Cruise and Hotel facilities. Under one roof it is a great incorporating spectacular architecture. Its brandished floor plan by Roman architect Massimiliano Fuksas is an answer to the building’s prominent position directly located at the River Elbe. The two-story cruise terminal is situated in the base facing the seaside. The elegantly curved façade plays the bank’s section like a wave of glass. Northwards a bus terminal is directly accessible. The northeast part of the building is reserved for the hotel delivery area. Close to this entrance to the underground parking is located.

The combination of a free developed shape, a special defined base and the careful consideration of the Hafencity elevation concept guarantees the Integration of the project in the urban context, without loosing its significance. The expression and the chosen material of the facade strengthen the independent character of the wide visible design.
